As a Regional Director of Operations, you will provide overall guidance, support, and supervision to the management teams within your region to ensure operations are conducted in a business-like, prudent, and cost-efficient manner, in compliance with all applicable statutes, regulations, and governmental requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- Post-secondary education,
- Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience, preferably in the senior living industry, hotel, or hospitality sector, with multi-unit operational oversight,
- Strong grasp of retirement residence operations, regulatory compliance, and financial management,
- Proven experience with labor relations, including collective agreement negotiations,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management,
- Ability to embrace various skills from the team to maximize the potential to enhance the well-being of all individuals,
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering career growth and innovation,
- A clear vulnerable sector screen, TB results no older than 6 months, and proof of flu shot,
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and have the ability to travel within Ontario

Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of retirement homes within the region, ensuring that corporate standards and guidelines are followed,
- Assist the communities with creating and executing business and marketing plans, and operational budgets, and introduce interventions as needed,
- Mentor with the Vice President of Operations on labour relations, including disciplines, grievances, mediation, and arbitration,
- Assist with the negotiation of collective agreements and provide guidance to General Managers on labor issues,
- Participate in external committees, such as Local Health Integration Networks and Community Care Access Centres, to align our services with broader healthcare initiatives,
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Director of Clinical Services to monitor financial performance, ensuring adherence to budgets,
- Provide support to General Managers and site managers in achieving occupancy goals, conducting regular site visits to ensure the physical well-being of the residences,
- Identify potential liability issues and collaborate with senior staff to minimize risks,
- Inspire and empower team members, creating a work environment that promotes individual needs over tasks and routines,
- Foster a culture of care that removes hierarchical barriers and encourages collaboration,
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met while promoting individual rights and reducing risks,
- Demonstrate within the team a relaxed manner while emphasizing people’s individual needs and not tasks and routines while ensuring work requirements are met,
- Seek to remove all potential controlling elements of care cultures and remove all features of a ‘them and us’ care approach,
- Inspire others to be motivated and work with passion, and empower all team members,
- Undertakes and meets all legal requirements within the context of promoting individuals’ rights and measuring/reducing elements of risk,
