We have a fantastic opportunity for a Regional Energy & Environment Manager covering the London & South to join our Energy & Environment team who sit within our Responsible Business area. The Energy and Environment team are focusing on designing and implementing a strategy that looks at both targeting energy and environment management in a holistic way from individual sites through to the corporate level. (We are offering up to £49,000 DOE, plus car allowance along with flexible working policy).

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role will report into the Senior Implementation Manager, The Regional Energy & Environment Managers will form part of the wider Energy & Environment team and be a key role in helping NHS Property Services to deliver energy/carbon and cost savings whilst also ensuring environmental compliance and improvement across the estate. This will involve working as part of the Energy & Environment team and collaborating with the wider NHSPS group e.g. the Asset Management team, Regional Facilities Management team, Technical Services team, Construction and other key teams to drive and embed improvements in working towards a net-zero carbon estate that is fully compliant and adapted for future climate change impacts. You’ll also be travelling to sites/hubs in order to build relationships and influence colleagues in delivering energy efficiencies.

You Will :

  • Sharing best practice of Energy & Environment initiatives with the rest of the estate
  • Supporting Energy Managers in identification and development of projects/initiatives to support carbon reduction, energy efficiency, environmental performance and climate adaptation.
  • Champion environmental and energy awareness of colleagues within their regions and building relationships to embed this in the region.
  • Acting as a conduit between the regions and the programme, ensuring the right stakeholders are identified, involved and informed
  • Identify and promote low cost no cost initiatives with regional teams to help reduce carbon across our estate, whilst also supporting Energy Managers in identification of capital works opportunities
  • Liaising, providing updates, implementing and/or notifying of any changes to policies with the regional teams to ensure energy and environmental compliance
  • Supporting the delivery and delivering their own KPIs

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Working in the property industry, with Property, Construction and Facilities Management sector experience particularly reaching site-based audiences and sub-contractors/vendors
  • Energy/Environmental Management Experience
  • Working with energy and environmental software packages (Eg, Systemslink)
  • Degree Level in an appropriate subject (eg, Engineering, Environment) or a Member of professional body (eg. Energy Institute, CIBSE, IEMA
  • Good communicator and comfortable engaging on a technical and manager level
  • Can work autonomously and can collaborate as part of a team
  • Working in a diverse, fast paced large organisation
  • Ability to analyse and present information on property energy consumption and project progress
