Description:
Every so often a role comes along:
- Where you know you will have real impact for a critical sector of the NZ economy
- That speaks not only to your experience within the agribusiness sector, but also your abilities as a connector and relationship builder, and your passion for finding answers with, and through, others
- That has real profile, influence and impact
And this is it!
Beef + Lamb New Zealand has listened to farmers and is focusing more resources into the regions to work alongside our existing extension team. These new Regional Extension Partner roles will take the lead in strengthening relationships with regional farmer councils and other sector critical partners in the regions, encouraging a collaborative approach that will maximise outcomes for farmers. Needless to say, this means working closely with, and as part of, the extension team, with a focus on working closely with the farmer council and other regional stakeholders to make sure farmer needs, by region, get the attention that will see farmers thrive.
Whether it’s working with partners to support the delivery of the Regional Extension Delivery Plan, leading regional farmer council engagement, supporting cross-regional initiatives, or gathering and analysing data to support improved or new approaches to work, everything you do is about supporting outcomes for farmers against the background and complexity of their operations and operating environment.
You will be leading the regional team of Extension Coordinators, working in the National Extension Team and reporting to the Island Extension Team Lead so your ability to both build and contribute to high performing teams will be well proven.
Not negotiable for us is your passion to ‘go hard’ in the B+L sector – every move we make is mission critical for farmers, so every move you make has to count. You’ll be reputationally sound with a well-developed network, proven credibility within the sector and you’ll be known for ‘getting things done.’ You’ll also have high levels of empathy matched with an ability to understand and navigate emotional as well as physical challenges.
There’s a job to be done for our sector and it needs energy and urgency. If your career is ready for high profile, strong performance delivery and a role where empathy and drive in equal measure are required, then we’d like to hear from you. You’ll likely have five-years post grad experience either in or close to the sheep and beef sector and be looking for breadth, influence and high levels of meaning in your work.
Take a look in detail (link to PD) and apply today. We are recruiting into the upper North Island and Otago/Southland now and applications will be managed as received, so don’t delay, apply today if this opportunity sounds like you.
