Job Description
Vertex is seeking a Finance Associate Director to join our GCC Regional operations based in Riyad. The individual will report into the Senior Director Finance Central & Eastern Europe and Middle East at regional headquarters in Munich, Germany and will be a member of the GCC Leadership Team. The individual will focus on the development of Vertex’s GCC Regional Finance operations supporting up to 20 Riyadh based employees as it relates to finance, accounting and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- GCC Finance lead for the region.
- Member of GCC Leadership Team.
- Business partner to Country Manager GCC, and to functional leads for all finance, accounting, tax, procurement, and supply chain related topics.
- Provide effective leadership facilitating collaboration amongst shared service transactional groups and local stakeholders.
- Lead planning, forecasting and analysis for revenue, operational expenses and headcount across GCC including tracking of risks & opportunities.
- Implementing KPI’s for each relevant support process area and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with local teams in setting and controlling field incentive scheme.
- Strategic preparation of future market entries, setup of affiliates and distributor partner selection.
- Actively shape GCC market access strategy through scenario modelling and launch recommendations.
- Supporting negotiations of reimbursement contracts with health care institutions , hospitals and governmental authorities.
- Drive rigorous and transparent policies and procedures throughout the organization to comply with local and US requirements including generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Work with international finance and corporate tax on all local statutory and tax filings.
- Participate in external audit and other professional services relationships.
- Support the international strategic supporting team as it relates to sourcing initiatives.
- Occasional international travel required.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance – CMA/CPA or MBA
- 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or health care industries performing financial planning, sales forecasting, and business analytics within a global organization.
- Experience working in a highly matrix reporting environment and experience conducting complex analytic assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic framework.
- A track record of proactively identifying problems and gaining consensus on potential solutions.
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Excel (including VBA Macros), MS PowerPoint and financial planning and reporting systems (Hyperion, Power BI); proficiency with simulation and scenario analysis.
- Fluent English and Arabic.
