Description:
Main Purpose:
Regional Head of Responsible Sourcing – Metals, Minerals & Bulk (MMB). Reporting to the Global Head of Responsible Sourcing – Metals, Minerals & Bulk, the Regional Head will lead implementation of Trafigura’s responsible sourcing programme in Africa in alignment with ESG Policies, strategies, goals, customer requirements & commercial drivers. The role manages an Analyst based in Africa.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrable passion for Responsible Sourcing
- Experience of carrying out responsible sourcing or ESG due diligence to international standards, notably OECD Due Diligence Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals, IFC Performance Standards, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ICMM Principles and ILO labour standards.
- Experience in building capacity of organizations and teams to improve ESG performance.
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels and influence audiences both internally and externally
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Good research and analytical skills
- Pro-active, energetic, and tenacious individual
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team and in a multi-cultural environment.
- Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement a responsible sourcing strategy aligned with ESG Policies, strategies, goals, customer requirements & commercial drivers.
- Lead the implementation of the Responsible Sourcing Due Diligence approach for MMB, ensuring initiatives are implemented in line with Trafigura Due Diligence Framework. This includes the comprehensive assessment, monitoring and mitigation of supplier sustainability risks throughout the lifecycle of the relationship.
- Contribute to external reporting in line with relevant regulatory and commercial requirements.
- In partnership with the CHESS SME ‘Innovation Team’, collaborate with suppliers to improve their sustainability performance, through the adoption of impactful initiatives.
- Report on key performance indicators to track and measure the effectiveness of responsible sourcing initiatives. Prepare regular reports for management and customers, outlining progress against targets.
- Engage with internal & external stakeholders and organisations in Africa to;
- Inform stakeholders about, and promote Trafigura’s Responsible Sourcing Programme
- Gain knowledge & support of best practise to ensure continuous improvement
- Communicate & promote initiatives, achievements, and value with a focus on impact reporting and case studies.
Represent Trafigura at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities across Africa. Act as a spokesperson for MMB sustainable procurement, sharing passion, insights, and knowledge.
