Since 2017 we have delivered around 17,000 new homes across affordable rent, shared ownership and social rent for individuals and families. In 2021 Sage Homes became the largest provider of new affordable housing in England, and we continue to deliver high quality affordable homes across the country.
We have invested more than £3 billion into high-quality affordable housing. Our entrepreneurial spirit combined with our technical expertise has got us to where we are today and will enable future sustainable growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A higher education qualification (e.g., Degree) or CIH/IRPM (or equivalent qualification) and/or substantial relevant experience in the housing sector.
- A full, valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle suitable for business use.
We are committed to ensuring you have the best career here at Sage. As well as regular support and guidance from your manager you can expect to receive a variety of learning and development opportunities to support you as you grow within our business. This includes internally and externally delivered development programmes and opportunities to study for professional accreditations and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
At Sage Homes, we believe that every customer deserves to feel valued and supported from the moment they move into their new home. As we expand our portfolio of new homes, it’s essential that we ensure each handover is seamless, and that the communities our customers move into are ready to welcome them. We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and passionate Regional Housing Manager to lead a high-performing team in ensuring our customers thrive in their homes and neighbourhoods.
As the Regional Housing Manager, you will take on a pivotal leadership role within our Housing Operations Team. Reporting to the Head of Housing Operations, you will provide strategic direction and long-term vision for our Tenancy Services and Neighbourhoods functions, ensuring that customers’ housing enquiries result in positive outcomes and their tenancies are sustainable. You will play a key role in shaping housing strategy, driving continuous improvements in service delivery, and overseeing the quality and compliance of the homes and communities we manage.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team across one of our three national regions, collaborating with colleagues from the Community Safety, Income, Repairs, Voids, Homeowner Services, and Customer Care teams. Together, we will deliver an exceptional, customer-focused service that sustains tenancies, maintains safe and attractive living environments, and supports the long-term well-being of our communities.
This is remote working role with travel to both of our offices in Covent Garden and Northampton when required. You will be managing a field based team in our South Region including Greater London, Kent, South East and South West locations as we grow our services.
This is a part-time role, requiring you to work 4 days a week, with Monday and Friday being essential workdays.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and inspire a regional team of Homes & Communities Officers and Service Quality Managers to deliver a high-performing tenancy and neighbourhood management service tailored to the needs of our customers.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies and processes to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and champion digital services where appropriate.
- Ensure that all housing-related services are delivered in line with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices, keeping Sage Homes at the forefront of service excellence.
- Set and monitor performance standards, manage casework effectively, and promote a culture of high staff morale and personal development.
- Foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the services we provide are coordinated and comprehensive, and make best use of local knowledge where possible.
- Support the delivery of new schemes, ensuring smooth handovers, site inspections, and familiarisation processes pre-handover to guarantee the homes and communities are ready for new customers.
- Oversee tenancy management activities, including tenancy support, fraud prevention, tenancy reviews, evictions, and changes (e.g., succession, mutual exchanges).
- Collaborate with the Lettings Team to ensure sensitive and appropriate decisions are made regarding new customers and sensitive lettings.
- Work closely with contract managers to ensure service providers meet Sage’s high standards in delivering services across our homes, blocks, communal areas, and communities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs), health and safety checks, fire risk management, and safeguarding obligations.
- Support and guide vulnerable customers, ensuring they have access to the necessary support services and are assisted in tenancy sustainment.
- Be the internal point of escalation for complex tenancy issues, managing high-risk cases and progressing them to resolution.
