Regional Legal Assistant (Paralegal)

This new regional position created, as a key member of the ECA regional legal team, is based in the Michelin Europe Central and Central Asia HQ in Bucharest, Romania, where our colleagues deliver excellence in Marketing and Sales, Quality, Cartography, IS/IT, Communication, Personnel, Finance, Service to Customer, Legal and Purchasing.
ECA region stands for Europe Central & Central Asia and is composed of 30 countries and jurisdictions. Our legal team counts 14 in-house lawyers based in 4 countries (Romania, Poland, Hungary and Serbia). We also manage a network of external lawyers in all the 30 countries of our region.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law;
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (paralegal/legal executive assistant in a law firm/of the general counsel of the company) within a demanding environment;
  • Proactive and meticulous, you appreciate the diversity of missions and the variety of topics addressed. Your versatility, curiosity, and adaptability will be highly valued. You enjoy being at the center of the team’s activities and have good interpersonal skills; you are responsive, well-organized, autonomous, with excellent relational skills, a sense of service, prioritization, and excellent drafting abilities. You know how to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility;
  • Excellent command of the Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, especially);
  • Good written and oral English proficiency;
  • Any other knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage.

What you will do:

  • Provide legal support to the business partners and knowledge management team, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents policies and procedures for routine operations to cover all the needs of ECA region, such as: powers of attorney and signature mandates, contracts, amendments based on templates and with the support of the legal team, certificates;
  • Provide level 1 simple legal advice to internal partners after relevant internal training: provide them with first answers, templates, processes to follow. More specifically in the following domains: corporate law, contract law, compliance (including GDPR). More generally: manage simple legal projects/files/questions on demand.
  • Independently manage and oversee the administrative handling of litigation cases, both internally and externally; collaborate with internal partners and external contacts to coordinate ongoing actions;
  • Independently and in direct relation with lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, and courts, ensure the administrative management of disputes handle formalities within deadlines and according to current procedures;
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality: Secure data and ensure confidentiality, guarantee procedure traceability, ensure filing and archiving in compliance with company rules and regulations;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal tools and systems to enhance the efficiency and quality of the legal service delivery;
  • Create, manage and update the ECA legal database and document repository, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information;
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various topics related to the company’s business & Legal watch on European/international legislation;
  • Ensure compliance with the procedures, adherence to deadlines, and conformity, signatures/proofs, billing compliance;
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as filing, invoicing, scheduling and reporting;
  • Provide training and guidance to the staff on legal matters and processes;
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other paralegals, lawyers and business stakeholders across the organization and regions;
  • Monitor and report on legal developments and trends affecting the company’s operations and interests.
