REGIONAL MARKET ADVISOR

BroadGrain Commodities is growing and is in need of multiple Regional Market Advisors. As a member of BroadGrain’s Market Advisor team, you will effectively purchase grain from farm customers and small private elevators. The perfect candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with the business and ensure the delivery of high quality and timely service to BroadGrain. Reporting directly to the Senior Director - Feed Trade, the successful candidate will fill the follows roles in the organization:

  • Primary focus is to buy crops and be the first contact with farm producers of grains sourced into our facilities in Ontario and directly to end users across Ontario and Quebec
  • Provide market information and cash grain bids to farm and commercial while establishing a grain marketing plan for targeted customers
  • Provide ongoing market information and feedback to traders and the grain merchandising group for developing effective procurement plans
  • Works to establish BroadGrain as the first choice in value-added grain marketing
  • Organizes and plans group and individual grain marketing educational programs; this includes preparing and delivering presentations
  • Provide customer service and act as one of the primary points of contact for customers
  • Execute grain contracts from pricing to delivery
  • Assist with resolving supplier issues and complaints
  • Able to make farm calls in person at times
  • Other duties as markets change or assigned to help the team

Qualifications of an ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural business or economics preferred or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years related agricultural and merchandising experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation is an asset
