ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Level 2 Incident Controller, or appropriate skills, knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, drive and manage regional operational workforce planning and recruitment strategies and programs.
- Support the Regional Commander in the delivery of strong, proactive and effective leadership for staff within the region.
- Proactively manage and coordinate Incident Control Centres and facilities and coordinate teams within the region ensuring they align with CFS Incident Control Centre requirements, standards and relevant legislation.
- Drive incident management reform and continuous improvement to ensure the region is appropriately prepared and resourced to meet control agency responsibilities.
- Oversee regional fire prevention, operational training and building fire safety functions.
- Provide expert technical advice on the delivery of emergency response services across the region.
- Provide expert advice to the Regional Commander to ensure the effective and appropriate use of resources (including personnel, equipment and material) in the delivery of emergency response services to the community.
- Provide high-level support to the Regional Commander in managing and coordinating regional staff, Groups and Brigades, including prioritisation of work, training of staff, monitoring workflow and setting regional plans.
- Undertake major projects/programs of work that focuses on the delivery of regional operations including the development of business cases with full cost implications for the Region and the agency.
- Provide a full Human Resource Management service for the regions operational staff covering attraction, retention, performance development, discipline and observance of all work health and safety obligations.
- Investigate and report on matters arising from workplace incidents, breaches of procedures or conflicts of interest to ensure operational risks to the region and the agency are minimised.
- Represent the Region in a range of regional meetings and committees that strengthen inter-government and stakeholder links and which results in improved outcomes for the region and the community.
- In the absence of the Regional Commander, undertake a range of tasks that result in the continued management of the regional team.
- Support the implementation and coordination of risk reduction activities according to the Bushfire Management Area Plan.
- Build relationships with SHQ and STC to identify efficiencies and opportunities for capacity building amongst staff and volunteers.
