Responsibilities:

This position is an analyst position completing Quality Assurance (QA) activities over the Regional Centre of Excellence for Sanctions Alert Adjudication (CoE). The role holder through carrying out their duties are responsible for the first line of defense oversight of Sanctions risk within the Regional CoE. The role holder will:

  • Conduct effective Test of Design investigation.
  • Select samples in line with appropriate model e.g., Monthly sample; SQAR.
  • Conduct review of each case, ensuring decisions are aligned to QA procedures and QA commentary for decision clearly describes the rationale to support the QA decisio

The role holder contributes to compliance with HSBC Policy and external Sanctions regulations applicable to the Region through:

  • Effective completion of Quality Assurance on all cases that are subject to QA.
  • Following all agreed processes and procedures; ensuring that all alerts that do not meet agreed standards are identified; with appropriate classification of errors and are escalated when appropriate.
  • Fulfilling required regional level Sanctions subject matter expertise and assessment. • Proactively identify and escalate Sanctions risks within region
