- Have a passion for reducing the levels of road trauma on Waikato’s roads.
- Would enjoy leading a small but passionate team of road safety educators that deliver “in-school” road safety education programs.
- Able to facilitate an inclusive style of working that brings people together.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and able to present to large groups.
- A strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and being able to demonstrate a clear commitment to working with Māori is a must .
MŌ NGĀ PŪKENGA | QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A tertiary qualification associated with education, community development, communications, road safety or demonstrable equivalent learning experience.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in community education, including project management, collaboration, programme delivery within schools, and programme design.
- A sound understanding of the safe system approach to road safety and its practical application.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and lead the implementation of road safety interventions, policies, and work programmes that accord with our road safety strategy in partnership with our local government colleagues throughout the Waikato Region.
- Liase with a broad range of stakeholders to develop and deliver effective road safety initiatives.
- Oversee road safety projects to ensure quality, time effectiveness, and adherence to budgets.
- Advocate on behalf of road safety outcomes in the Waikato.
- Part of a region with transport connections growing rapidly and as such effectively liaise with other regions and central government agencies.
