  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding performance objectives.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To lead, develop and motivate the external sales team of Senior Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers and Brand Developers to consistently achieve agreed targets in line with our strategy of profitable growth. The role will cover our Northern Region from Midlands to Scotland Region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed. This extends to ensuring all your reports are aware of and behave in accordance with the company Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Manage the performance of your team. Motivate your team. Set challenging Goals and Objectives for your team. Mentor and develop direct and indirect reports. Ensure that the team works in line with regional and company objectives.
  • Manage appraisals, the Performance Review Process, Personal Development Plan’s and all training in line with Company policy and procedure.
  • Analyse performance reports and, taking a data led approach, manage team performance;
  • Challenging under performance and taking appropriate action, normally starting with coaching
  • Recognise and praise success and motivate the team to succeed
  • Ensure appraisals are carried out and relevant development plans are in place to strengthen skills / experience gaps or ready team members for future progression
  • Foster a culture of achievement and internal progression with both direct & indirect reports.
  • Personally, and through your team, promote a positive image of Keylite and the Keystone Group in the market place
  • Report on team performance and any major team/customer/market issues monthly / adhoc
  • Coordinate the annual budget setting process for GB Merchant Branch sales targets
  • Manage costs in line with annual budget
  • Ensure effective communication within and between teams at all times.
  • Identify growth opportunities with new and existing accounts, collaborating with Sales Director / National Accounts team to agree volume growth priorities
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director / National Account team to execute business development plans through your team, taking the time to communicate and explain priorities and ensuring resource is balanced and expectations are achievable
  • Foster and maintain mid-Senior level relationships with customers, particularly supporting less experienced team members with review meetings with principles/area directors.
  • Support your team to use PowerBI reporting to prepare consistent and concise business review packs for their key accounts
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Keylite Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technical and Finance teams, communicating any issues, participating in action planning and taking ownership for the delivery of agreed tasks by your team
  • Work closely with Sales Management across the Keystone Group, sharing opportunities and leveraging the strength of the Group.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to tailor targeted sales strategies to regional opportunities.
  • Hold regular team meetings to communicate individual and company performance and future direction and to share best practice amongst the team
  • Take ownership for Keylink (CRM), ensuring the team are effectively;
  • forward planning calls to each customer type
  • logging & qualifying leads
  • following up and closing opportunities
  • accurately administrating call and schedule tracking notes with meaningful and relevant actions
  • Engage wider Keylite team when needed to support achievement of sales objectives
  • Attend various industry events, sometimes involving evenings or weekends away
  • National travel will be required as part of the role including regular nights away from home.
  • To carry out other tasks as deemed necessary, that are within the job holder’s capability
  • Instil and maintain a customer service culture where the customer always comes first. This includes a customer service culture for our internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate effective use of the 6 Agreements of Collaboration.
    As the company expands and due to ongoing changes in market conditions and the business environment, it is a requirement of the position to undertake any other reasonable task related to the position you hold.
