We’re a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s worldwide taxes. We are responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting of taxes, tax planning, business advisory and management of taxing authority examinations. Our work contributes directly to the firm’s success, and the division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail. The primary mission of Tax is to ensure the firm’s compliance with the tax laws of those countries (and local jurisdictions) in which the firm conducts business and to assist its businesses in managing tax risk.

Key functions include:

  • Providing tax information for the firm’s financial statements;
  • Preparing/supervising the preparation of local tax returns for the firm;Advising the firm’s professionals on the tax implications related to the firm’s businesses and/or transactions undertaken by or for the firm, including investment funds managed by the firm.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goldman Sachs is seeking a highly qualified and experienced tax professional to join our Tax team as a Executive Director/ Vice President. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Singapore tax with a focus on Asset & Wealth Management and will play a key role in advising on transactions, fund structures, and tax compliance oversight .

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • CPA, tax lawyer, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in Singapore tax , particularly in Asset & Wealth Management .
  • Strong understanding of financing transactions and products and expertise in reviewing and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Hands-on experience with the Singapore fund incentive scheme and its practical applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and oversee tax compliance processes handled by external accounting firms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a Law Firm , Big Four accounting firm, financial institution, or multinational corporate tax department .
  • Familiarity with international tax regulations and cross-border structuring .
  • Strong project management and leadership skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax advisory and structuring support to business teams for potential fund investment opportunities, restructurings and divestitures;
  • Work with business teams to review tax aspects of the formation of investment funds managed by the firm;
  • Manage tax-related inquiries from a variety of the firm’s businesses across established and emerging markets;
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with Singapore fund incentive schemes , leveraging hands-on experience with their application and implementation;
  • Monitor tax risks and developments in Singapore and international tax laws affecting the firm’s investments and structures;
  • Oversee and manage external accounting firms handling tax compliance and other tax-related processes;
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and investment professionals, to optimize tax efficiency for business initiatives;
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with outside tax counsel, accounting firms, and internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate tax planning, risk controls, and compliance;
  • Act as a risk manager through ongoing awareness of the tax regulatory environment and the firm’s adherence to its tax compliance obligations;
  • Stay updated on global tax trends, proposed and actual changes in law and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
