The Regional Technical Manager – Eastern Canada
The role will consist of 3 aspects:
- APS support for the Quebec region
- Engage with Plant Managers and VP, Manufacturing on regional loss elimination activities and planning
- Train Plant Employees and Plant Leadership in Altium Production Systems
- Coach and guide sites thru AM and FI events
- Audit AM activities
- Create; support and drive local loss planning activities
- Operations Leadership in regional loss planning process
- Educate, communicate, and work with all levels of manufacturing employees including senior leadership, plant leaders, and shop-floor employees
- Plan, lead, and facilitate meetings / working sessions
- Direct and lead multiple initiatives at once
- Support Operators and Plant Leadership in Altium Production Systems
- Support Cross functional improvement teams; Lead initiatives
- Maintenance Leadership / Troubleshooting
- Support Maintenance Managers development and technical knowledge of the Preventative Maintenance for sites in Eastern Canada
- Provide on-site technical support to existing processes as needed
- Provide training on manufacturing processes including EBM, ISBM, injection molding, injection blow molding, labeling, decoration, and assembly
- Find ways to improve operation and/or change Altium Packaging designs or products to ensure flow to customers’ outbound supply chain
- Develop standard procedures and instruct operators
- Develop resolution to routine technical problems and execute solutions within developed timelines
- Offer suggestions & make physical changes within our Altium Packaging plants to improve throughput or efficiencies by fixing, changing, combining lines and equipment
- Work with vendors on job sites to provide oversight and improve our speed to market
- Consult with product designer to ensure manufacturability and functionality of packages
- Create customer loyalty - Listen carefully, respond quickly, promote Altium Packaging within the customer visits, be honest about the issues they encounter and address each one responsibly
- Contribute expertise to development of new products, materials, and processes from ideation, pilot trials, proof of manufacturing at scale, through commercialization hand-off
- Troubleshoot customer problems unrelated to Altium Packaging products and offer solutions that may increase efficiencies, lower operational costs, and reduce “shrink” to cost and support customers’ growth
- Project Management Support
- Provide input to help define scope and investment requirements for larger capital projects.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to decrease demand on human and capital resources.
- Proactively communicate across internal functional groups (Plant Operations, Capital Project Managers, Corporate Engineering team) and outside vendors or contractors
- Lead discovery efforts to develop written goals and objectives to provide issue resolution.
Develop and execute capital projects with optimized execution plans that minimize the overall timeline and yield the highest possible ROI
- Assess and improve current tools within the Plant Engineering toolbox to provide world-class support and to drive results that lead to dependable utility and infrastructure systems.
Maintain suitable Technical Standards (infrastructure, systems, electrical, etc.) and develop and roll out new standards when needed
- Develop strategies to reduce manufacturing costs and improve efficiency.
Lead manufacturing processing trials in Altium locations; Participate in FAT when required and occasionally at suppliers and customers
- Plan and carry out experiments and provide data analysis to define limitations and value of new materials, products, and processes
- Evaluate machinery and process prior to trials, and direct necessary corrective actions
