Description:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of physical, psychological, and social effects of addictions, and family violence.
- Knowledge of health, lifestyle and wellness programs, services, and related activities.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with youth through different mediums.
- Ability to research and promote health activities in the area of mental, spiritual, and emotional health.
- Awareness of the importance and limitations of confidentiality, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personal information.
- Ability to acquire relevant knowledge of the NWT Mental Health Act, the Child and Family Services Act and other applicable NWT legislations.
- Understanding of the curriculum and an awareness of various issues associated with Social Emotional Learning.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of Mental Health First Aid for Northern Peoples.
- Ability to be self-directed, meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A degree in the Social Sciences coupled with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
