Job Description
- Reporting to Associate or Partner responsible for the project
- Responsible for Assigned members of the Project team
- Level of Experience: 2+ years RIAI Registered Architect or RIBA/RIAS)
Job Requirements
General
- Carry out the technical development of the project, and lead and manage the design team and its delivery of design information on time and within budget, as appropriate
- Has a proven track record in designing and delivering award winning architectural work
- Understands fully the legislative context of the profession within Ireland (including Planning, Building Regulations, Procurement, etc.)
- Contributes to policy development and updates across studio
- Leads and contributes to studio improvements opportunities
- Actively seeks out learning opportunities – internally and externally
- Strong communication skills, written, verbal and presentation
- Drives forward projects assertively while managing own work, and design/studio teams to ensure delivery of information on time and within budget
- Shows interests in in projects fee budgets, timetables and resourcing
- Leads design development of key Packages or technical tasks
Design
- Strong working knowledge of building technologies, technical standards, regulations, frameworks and planning applications
- Good track record in designing award winning projects across a number of sectors
- Excellent CAD/BIM (Revit) Experience
- Produces coherent and detailed Design/proposals within framework of project that exemplify standards of studio and satisfy clients
- Strong communication skills- written and verbal
- Works with strong knowledge of design and architecture
- Participates and actively contributes to discussions on design/technical reviews while offering input and advice
- Ability to technically specify and select product
- Confident in contract set-up, arrangement and day to day administration responsibilities
- In-depth understanding of key environmental issues and reflects this in design/technical work
- Good working knowledge of contract specification and administration
- Reflects awareness of contemporary environmental issues in design/technical work
Project Management
- Contributes to working group conversations on Studio improvements eg. IT, system administration, technical developments
- Acts as a mentor to staff
- Identifies opportunities for mentoring and training needs of team
- Actively seeks out learning opportunities – internally and externally. Articulates development needs clearly
- Confident in communication to all stakeholders, ability to resolve disputes in a professional manner
- Prepare and maintain project drawings in compliance with QA and Safety management Systems.
- Ensure the adequate integration of technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings
- Prepare drawings for planning, tender or construction purposes
- Prepare reports and documentation
- Administer project related information in line with standards and procedures of the Practice
- Co-ordinate and liaise with internal and external parties
- Attend key meetings
- Keep Project Associate / Partner regularly updated on progress of work and/or anticipated problems
