ABOUT AMETHYST THERAPY:

Amethyst Therapy is a group private practice located in Williams Lake, BC. Our team of six Registered Clinical Counsellors is dedicated to providing specialized counselling services to clients of all ages. We prioritize work-life balance, professional collaboration, and clinical excellence. Our experienced General Manager and dedicated Administrative Assistant work behind the scenes to provide seamless support, ensuring both our counsellors and clients have the best possible experience. With a growing waitlist, we are seeking an experienced Clinical Counsellor with EMDRIA-approved certification to join our practice.

POSITION DETAILS:

We are seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our team as an independent contractor in March 2025. This position offers the flexibility of 0.75 to full-time hours (your choice), with a combination of weekday, evening, and weekend shifts available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in counselling or a related field.
• Current registration as a Clinical Counsellor (RCC or equivalent).
• EMDRIA-approved certification and experience in EMDR therapy (required).
• Experience providing counselling in a clinical setting, preferably with diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of evidence-based counselling techniques and trauma-informed practices.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Work Location: In-person at 525 Borland Street, Williams Lake, BC, V2G 1R9.
• Applicants must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Williams Lake before starting the position.

• Provide individual counselling and EMDR therapy in accordance with BCACC and EMDRIA guidelines.
• Assess clients’ mental health needs and collaborate on developing personalized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive care.
• Communicate with clients and the Amethyst Therapy administrative team to optimize client experiences and outcomes.
• Stay informed of current research and best practices in counselling and EMDR therapy.
