Trutina is an independent Canadian Compounding Pharmacy that specializes in the formulation of innovative medications for our customers, and we are looking for a PHARMACY COMPOUNDING TECHNICIAN.
We are an industry leader in custom medications for the veterinary and physician patient market. Our business is to offer high quality compound products delivered with exceptional customer service to meet the unmet needs of our clients.
We are not your typical retail pharmacy.
We operate a state-of-the-art facility designed specifically to meet the regulatory and environmental requirements for compounded medications including sterile, non-sterile and hazardous/non-hazardous preparations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process & check prescriptions including reading and interpreting prescriptions and entering them accurately into the computer system.
  • Sign technical aspects of prescriptions as per the approved guidelines set forth by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to NAPRA’s Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacy Technicians and any provincial regulations for Pharmacy Technician practice.
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Unpack shipments and pack prescriptions for shipment.
  • Label products.
  • Check and approve final release of specialty pharmaceutical formulations prepared using appropriate specialized compounding skills, equipment, and pharmaceutical calculations in accordance with worksheets, procedures and instructions approved by a pharmacist.
  • Release compounding medication ensuring correct components, weight, labelling, and refer to a pharmacist if problems arise.
  • Prepare, check, and approve final release of sterile products using appropriate specialized skills, equipment, aseptic technique and pharmaceutical calculations in accordance with worksheets, procedures and instructions approved by a pharmacist.
  • Other required responsibilities as needed.
