Description:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Dietician with the College of Dieticians of Manitoba;
- Experience working with an indigenous community in a clinical setting is an asset;
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and time management skills;
- Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
- Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
- Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
- Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities:
- Educate and support Red River Métis Citizens in nutritional principles, diet, food selection and economics;
- Evaluate nutritional care and provide follow up continuity of care plans to ensure nutrition needs are met;
- Develop and provide nutritional training to staff and citizens (e.g. grocery options, diabetes training, healthy eating habits, etc.);
- Encourage self-determination and family participation in healthy practices;
- Adapt teaching plans to individual lifestyle and education of the citizens;
- Manage MMF citizen files and chart accordingly along side of the Clinical Services Team;
- Act as a nutritional resource;
- Proposal writing and compiling reports;
- Work with diverse Red River Métis Citizens across Manitoba and Beyond Borders including gender minorities, and all cultural, spiritual, political, age, ability, family, and economic circumstances;
- Travel to the communities as needed to provide support.
