POSITION DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional care to children/families by assessing nutritional status and identifying, preventing and rectifying nutritional problems. The area of coverage is the NICU.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment of infants in the NICU with attention to medical complications, and effects of nutrition/ malnutrition on growth & development
- Provide appropriate and cost-efficient nutritional therapy to patients, including initiation and monitoring of parenteral and enteral nutrition support
- Monitor the effectiveness of nutrition intervention and care
- Act as a resource to the Division of NICU, patients/families, as well as other health care professionals and referral centers on nutrition education
