We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team at Tiny Hoppers, Big Bay Point. JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Cover a one-year RECE maternity leave position
- Responsible for the supervision, safety, and overall well-being of children during daily programming
- Follow regulations set out by the Ministry of Education and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, ensuring all documentation is properly kept up to date
- Ensure the Child Care and Early Years Act and Tiny Hoppers Early Learning Centre policies and procedures are adhered to
- Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the classroom, playground, and routines are implemented and followed
- Prepare activities and set up the learning environment before the children arrive
- Provide opportunities for self-expression through a variety of mediums
- Observations and documentation are conducted daily to support and promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
- Liaise with the Director/Assistant Director, co-workers, and all other staff/volunteers
- Communicate any concerns or issues to the Director/Assistant Director immediately
- Communicate with families through Tiny Hoppers’ corresponding methods; establishing and maintaining a warm and supportive professional relationship
- Maintain a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment for all children within the class and Centre
- Ensuring that all documents are signed off on daily and throughout your day
- Attending quarterly staff meetings
- Professional development training/workshops
- Attend special events hosted by Tiny Hoppers as required
- Available to work various shifts between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have an ECE Diploma/Degree from a recognized institution
- Currently registered with the College of ECE and in good standing
- 1 year experience working with children ages 6 months to 5 years
- Working knowledge of the CCEYA and Licensing Act
- Familiar with “How Does Learning Happen?”
REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRING:
- Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen (within the last 6 months)
- Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (infant/child)
- Knowledge of the CCEYA and CCEYA Child Care Self-Test
- Up-to-date immunization records (Tetanus and MMR)
- Medically fit to work letter
- Workers Health and Safety Awareness Certificate
- Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)
