SUPERVISOR, NEW CHILD CARE CENTRE
Network Child Care Services (“Network”) is a non-profit, community based multi-site child care agency that has been providing quality child care services throughout various communities in Toronto for over 30 years. Licensed by the Ministry of Education, Network provides equitable and inclusive child care programs to support culturally diverse children and their families in group based child care programs, a home child care program, and Before and After School Programs.
Network is currently seeking a Child Care Supervisor for a new child care program located in the Liberty Village community of Toronto.
The brand new child care centre is located on the second level of a condominium building. The program will begin operating in early 2025, providing child care and early years services to 49 children, from infants to preschool; 0 to 4 years.
Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the Child Care Centre Supervisor will work collaboratively as part of a professional team to oversee the daily operations and activities of the child care program, ensuring that all regulations, directives, and governance are followed. The Supervisor ensures that the child care program meets or exceeding provincial and municipal legislative and regulatory standards; assists to recruit, select and train new child care staff; assess and identify training needs for child care staff; reviews and monitors compliance with required policies, procedures and individualized plans; liaise with government officials; apply policies, program framework, and legislation to respond to inquiries and issues from staff and families.
Location: Toronto’s Liberty Village (21 Western Battery Road, Toronto, ON).
Job Type: Full Time Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Start Date: March 2025 (TBD).
MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an Early Childhood Education program recognized by the Ministry of Education. Post graduate Child Care Management Certificate or other credentials is an asset.
· Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
· Minimum 3 years work experience in licensed child care, working with infant, toddler and preschool children.
· Child Care Administration experience.
· Able to plan and direct the program of the child care centre, overseeing children and program staff.
· Supervisory experience required.
· Demonstrated experience working with families and staff.
· Able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Current First Aid certification.
· Available to work flexible hours when required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, and Assessment for Quality Assurance (AQI), Every Child Belongs model, and How Does Learning Happen?
· Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
· Demonstrated supervisory skills to supervise, build relationships, coach, and mentor child care staff and Registered Early Childhood Educators.
· Experience with CSIS and other child care data bases to collect information, retrieve data, and prepare reports.
· Experience working with children with varying exceptionalities, following Every Child Belongs model.
· Familiarity with Toronto Children’s Services subsidy application process to support families.
· Demonstrates an understanding of the College of Early Childhood Educators Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities:
· Following the directives of City of Toronto Children’s Services, the Ministry of Education’s Child Care and Early Years Act, (CCEYA) regulations, Toronto Public Health, and the organization’s operational policies and procedures the Child Care supervisor is responsibility to ensure the child care program maintains full regulatory licensing compliance.
· Provide open houses and orientation to families interested in the child care program.
· Maintains and monitors the child care centre waitlist and enroll children when space is available.
· Ensures pedagogical program plans are implemented.
· Ensures adherence to Network’s established policies and practices maintains program delivery standards.
· Ensures provision of support, resources, referrals to families in the program.
· Displays and role models appropriate practices with children – interactions, behaviour guidance, language, and age-appropriate development.
· Acts as a mentor and role model for all staff members, support staff, education placement students and volunteers in the child care centre.
· Responsible for maintaining/overseeing records and documentation pertaining to children, staff, daily log entries and any daily occurrence.
· Reconcile and oversees daily attendance procedures and inputs to CSIS.
· Maintains Child Care Pro database up to date by consolidating children’s information, admission and withdrawals.
· Ensures observations are used to tailor activities and support individual learning needs, and are shared with team members and parents, using Storypark app or other appropriate communication platforms.
· Conducts annual staff appraisal.
· Plan and facilitate weekly and monthly staff meetings.
