QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Psychology degree with a minimum of 3-years’ experience.
- Hands-on experience undertaking ADHD assessments.
- Must be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and Police Check (national or international) or willingness to obtain.
- Acceptance and acknowledgement of all applicable internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
As a new service offering to our Allied Health division, this role focuses on optimising psychosocial outcomes for clients with severe and complex mental health conditions. Reporting to the Manager, Allied Health Services and working closely with the Group Chief Operations Officer, the General or Clinical Psychologist is responsible for delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and therapeutic services. The role involves providing mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management for clients with complex cases, administering psychological assessments, and developing intervention plans in line with best practices and regulatory standards. In addition to providing psychological treatment and counselling via 1:1 sessions and group-based programs, the General or Clinical Psychologist will collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective program delivery and transparency. The role also includes engaging clients and their families in tailored assessments and interventions, providing case management services such as crisis response and advocacy, and ensuring adherence to professional ethics, DCC policies, and legal requirements, including the Mental Health Act 2016. This position plays a critical role in improving the mental health and well-being of clients while working within a multi-disciplinary team.
