Description:
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Care Manager for Children, Youth and Families, Addiction and Mental Health, the Clinic Nurse works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure success in clinical services by providing mental health nursing support to clinicians and families. This advanced practice nurse’s main responsibility is working closely with clinic Psychiatrist(s), supporting client needs along with triaging referrals, assisting with medication management, coordinating referrals and working collaboratively with internal and external partners to facilitate continuity of care. This requires well-developed skills in mental health and risk assessment, and the ability to work closely with the Physicians, Psychiatrist(s) and Psychiatry residents. Current relevant knowledge with both facility and community resources is essential to effectively assess and safely plan with children, youth, and their families. The Clinic Nurse will also be involved in supporting Walk In services, groups, case conferences, staff meetings, professional development activities, and other related duties as required. The Clinic Nurse requires strong skills in documentation and data collection. This position will be based out of both Sherwood Park and St. Albert CYF Community Clinics. Please note that the current schedule is Monday to Friday days and this could change in the future depending on the needs of the clinic and the number of staff hired.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
