Registered Nurse, Band 5 (25 hours a week)

The post-holder supports the department sisters in ensuring robust clinical practices amongst all staff.
Support cross county service in both of the counties Orthopaedic and fracture clinics.
You proactively promote staff education and development, ensuring its relevance to the practice area and individual needs
Actively promote robust infection control practices. Assist the department sisters to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the clinical area and for a well-maintained clinical environment.

• The ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with the multidisciplinary team.

• Responsible for the supervision and mentorship for unqualified/qualified staff and students.
• To input and retrieve patient information from computer based system and maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.
• Supports multi-professional within the department, advising patients on pre-operative and post-operative care including wound care.

Undertake specific delegated tasks following the appropriate training and competency level e.g. application of simple off the shelf splints and braces, remove plaster casts, record ECG, MRSA screening and venepuncture, arranging admission of patients to wards from clinic
