Overview:
Position Summary: In this role you are responsible for providing ongoing guidance and direction to the nursing team, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, for patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses. This is an opportunity to share your skills and compassion with those who genuinely need your support and expertise to facilitate improved quality of life during a challenging time. This is a Hospice Role, and will cover Bucks County
Essential Functions: Ensures the provision of quality nursing service by assigned staff. Provides ongoing direction, guidance and evaluation of hospice nurses and ensures that professional standards are maintained. Assesses requests for hospice service and initiates measures to provide for meeting identified service needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring patient vital signs, including body temperature, heart rate, respiration rate and blood pressure
  • Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to plan care.
  • Make frequent visits to the patient to evaluation their condition.
  • Provide support and comfort according to individual patient’s needs.
  • Work with caregivers to plan and execute excellent patient care.
  • Help in Administering medication.
  • Alleviate sudden symptoms of the disease’s end phase.
  • Notify a doctor for a patient’s condition when deemed necessary.
  • Assist patients and their families with paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Help relatives cope with the upcoming loss and provide post-mortem support.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as hospice nurse or registered nurse
  • Knowledge of nursing care processes and medication guidelines/side-effects
  • Committed to safety precautions and high ethical standards
  • Proficient in English
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate nature
  • Cool-tempered and patient
  • Emotional/mental stability and stamina
  • Formal nurse training; certification as hospice nurse is a plus
  • Current CPR certificate

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
