Description:

Looking for a new career path in one of the most picturesque parts of the country? Are you a student looking to take up your first post? Then Morecambe Bay is just the place for you, offering the beautiful Lake District on your doorstep and within easy reaching distance of the City of Lancaster which offers excellent transport links to the main cities in the UK.
Do you consider caring with compassion to be fundamental to your role?
Our Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, highly motivated nurses to join our dynamic, dedicated, forward thinking professional team which serves a wide geographical area with rural and urban communities.
You will be reliable, flexible, motivated, have excellent clinical skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high quality care, and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation in order to meet the demands of the community we serve.
If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!
The units encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services for our communities. We also have dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites. This ensures a rich variety of experiences and development for our staff.
Our Children’s inpatient services provide compassionate care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years of age across two busy sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital. The units provide care for a mixture of specialties and for a wide range of conditions including High Dependency Care.

Here at Morecambe Bay we are not only committed to supporting our employees in mandatory training requirements but also professional development in your Children’s nursing career. We offer the following (not an exhaustive list):

  • Preceptorship Package
  • Supported development in tertiary centres
  • Various in-house leadership programmes
  • PLS and opportunity to complete APLS
  • Support from Practice Development Team

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
