SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Current AHPRA Nursing registration.
Genuine interest in cancer care nursing and professional development within this space.
Ability to apply excellent communication and problem-solving skills with patients and colleagues.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining good working relationships.
Experience documenting patient experiences and relaying patient feedback to Doctors and Nurse Managers.
Capacity to learn and use multiple clinical administration systems.
Commitment to learning and continual professional development.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are excited to offer a rare opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team at our Radiation Oncology treatment centre in Warrnambool on a casual basis. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this RN will provide nursing care to patients undergoing Radiotherapy. Responsibilities include assessing, reviewing, and implementing patient care plans during their treatment.
This position offers a high level of autonomy within a supportive team environment. It is a deeply fulfilling role that allows for meaningful connections with our patients.
At Icon, the role of a Registered Nurse is invaluable. It involves clinical assessment, patient education, support for physical side effects, emotional care, and referrals to allied health services
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provision of patient centred radiation oncology cancer care to our patients and their families, ensuring an empathetic approach to patients needs are met in a timely manner.
Monitor and treat patients for illness, lymphoedema or other side effects.
Maintain standards by implementing and following best practice protocols and clinical guidelines.
Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice following current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice
Support the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations
Support the implementation of new systems, therapies and clinical trials.
