Wage Schedule: $39.070 - $56 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing;
  • Current B.C.L.S.;
  • Two years recent experience in acute surgical care, managing PCA’s, central lines/TPN and acute orthopaedic care;
  • Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the C.N.O “Standards of Nursing Practice”;
  • Demonstrated leadership strengths, the ability to assume the charge role;
  • Proven organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving and teaching skills;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy;
  • Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
  • Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
  • BScN. is required;
  • Must have satisfactory performance record;

Responsibilities:

To use nursing process in providing patient care. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team. As an individual practitioner, to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. To maintain nursing records. Function as a member of a Multidisciplinary team. To perform other related duties as assigned.
