QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing;
- Current B.C.L.S.;
- Two years recent experience in acute surgical care, managing PCA’s, central lines/TPN and acute orthopaedic care;
- Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the C.N.O “Standards of Nursing Practice”;
- Demonstrated leadership strengths, the ability to assume the charge role;
- Proven organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving and teaching skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy;
- Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
- Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
- BScN. is required;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

Responsibilities:
To use nursing process in providing patient care. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team. As an individual practitioner, to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. To maintain nursing records. Function as a member of a Multidisciplinary team. To perform other related duties as assigned.
