How you make a difference:
The MOUD RN provides comprehensive on-site services to MOUD program members, including administering medications, coordinating with psychiatric and medical providers, and ensuring effective communication. They work with MOUD Providers to schedule telehealth appointments, manage referrals and release of information, obtain labs and urine drug screens, and perform other related duties. They play a crucial role in discharge planning, staff development, and performance improvement activities. Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse(s), they guide patient teaching and activities according to their education and competencies, fostering an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, and help plan individualized treatment programs using available resources.
- Deliver comprehensive on-site services to MOUD program members, administer medications, coordinate care, and ensure effective communication with psychiatric and medical providers.
- Collaborate with MOUD Providers to schedule telehealth appointments, manage referrals and release of information, and obtain routine labs and urine drug screens (UDS).
- Implement individualized treatment programs and medical plans, including administering medications and diagnostic tests according to established protocols, and assist Health Care Practitioners in medical procedures.
- Maintain safety and clinical standards by counting controlled substances, documenting nursing encounters using SOAP charting, responding to patient crises, attending mandatory meetings and training, and communicating necessary information to relevant staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience
Licenses/Certifications
- Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
