Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate (within 1 year) required
Current Advanced Cardiac life Support (ACLS) Certificate (within 2 years) required
Recent (within 2-3 yrs.) Coronary Care Course (min. 25 hrs.) and/or Lead II/12 Lead Interpretation Course (min.
25 hrs.) required
Minimum 2-3 years Medical/Surgical experience required
Recent (within past 2-3 years) Critical Care and Emergency experience (minimum 1 year) required
Must have or be able to obtain certification of added nursing skills and delegated medical acts specific to C.C.U. and
E.R. by the end of orientation period:
Cardioversion/defibrillation
application of external pacemaker
arterial line management
emergency drugs
ventilators
