Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. On offer is a Temporary Full time opportunity to join the Orthopaedic -Plastics team, located at Nepean Hospital until November 2026.

This role will see you assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to meet defined patient/client care objectives within agreed timeframes and maintain confidentiality on all issues relating to patients/clients, colleagues and NBMLHD. You will respond effectively to emergency situations, the changing status of patients/clients, clinical concerns, adverse events, critical incidents and complaints and at all times act as an advocate to assist patients/clients, families and carers, make informed decisions in relation to their Health Care needs, treating them with respect and responding to their needs.

Responsibilities:
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week.
