Description:

Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
As a Registered Nurse within Orthopaedic team, you will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner.
Our Orthopaedic Surgery Wards tend to patients undergoing a range of treatments, including spinal surgeries, joint replacements, and fracture repairs. To ensure a speedy recovery, our team of devoted medical staff on Our Orthopaedics ward collaborates to offer patients all-encompassing care and assistance to restore their mobility.
Our goal is to not only address the physical needs of our patients, but also provide emotional and mental support to help them regain their independence and quality of life

The position

  • Plan, perform, facilitate and evaluate delivery of patient care that is in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team approach in the delivery of patient care.
  • Participate in team nursing and other clinical projects/initiatives in order to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Report changes in patients’ condition to senior nursing caregivers and/or medical practitioners and document identified variations.
  • Provide supervision to other members of the care delivery team including Registered Nurses/Midwifes, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses, and PSA/PCA’s.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently in providing care.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained when providing care.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to unexpected events of rapidly changing situations.

You will hold a current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with relevant clinical experience within orthopaedics, including knowledge of acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice.

You will communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels and participate in, contribute to and implement quality improvement and risk management in all aspects of service.   • Salary: $74,748 to $98,362 (pro rata for part time) plus 11.5% superannuation
