ABOUT YOU: TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS POSITIONS YOU WILL HAVE:

• A minimum of 12 months current clinical experience in a PACU
• Competence in managing the airway of an unconscious/recovering patient
• Strong acute care skills - allowing you to think on your feet; make effective decisions and advocate for your patients to ensure optimal outcomes
• Great communication skills and the ability to cope with a busy and ever changing environment
• Ideally - certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS level 6) and/or certified in paediatric advanced life support (PALS), however the opportunity to obtain certification is available

Do you want a PACU role that provides you the time and resources to give the level of care you’ve always wanted? Here’s an opportunity for an RN to join our supportive PACU team at Ascot Hospital in Greenlane, Auckland on a permanent 0.9 FTE basis. You’ll work 8 hr shifts rostered across 0730 - 2030, primarily Mon-Fri. The roster is published 3-4 weeks in advance, with the ability to self-request shifts and shift swap with other RNs. There is occasional overnight on-call, and the opportunity to work some Saturdays. No night shifts.
We have 12 ORs at Ascot and an HDU, theatre cases include: General, Orthopaedic, Spinal, Neuro, Gynae, Plastics, ENT, Urology (Da Vinci Robotics). Or patients are both adults and children. We have PACUs across 2 floors - including day stay, and you will rotate between the two areas.
