Your Opportunity:
As a member of the interdisciplinary team at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) provides direct patient care and is responsible for organizing patient intake on a 22 bed Older Adult/Geriatric Psychiatry Rehabilitation unit. This is a unique dual role position that combines direct patient care with a coordinator role that supports patient intake. The successful candidate will carry out both roles as assigned daily by the manager. The nurse will be responsible for coordinating and completing patient intake which will include liaising with patients, families and referral sources. The nurse will also provide direct patient care ensuring that current nursing process and skills are applied to achieve excellence in mood disorders, thought disorders, dementia care. He/she/they will ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and other programs and services. Guided by best practice and AHS policies, both roles will focus on patient and family centered care. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the team and occasional student learning experiences. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
