Your part in St Stephen’s Hospital team

  • With five Operating Theatres we provide a range of inpatient surgical services including Bariatric, Ear, Nose and Throat, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Maxillofacial, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urological, Vascular and General Surgery including Colorectal, Laparoscopic, Breast and Gastro-intestinal surgery.We are inviting applications for Scrub Scout Registered Nurses with experience in Orthopaedic to apply.
  • Demonstrates application of the principles of clinical and workplace risk management.
  • Applies sound clinical practice which ensures a safe environment and promotes optimal patient health.
  • Effectively exchanges information regarding patient responses to treatment and nursing care.
  • Achieves optimum patient care through effective collaboration with other health professionals and coordination of care.
  • Achieves optimal patient outcomes through appropriate allocation of staff and delegation of work and uses effective communication skills.
  • Exercises authority through appropriate decision making.
  • Utilises customer service principles to exceed customer expectations.
  • Undertake other duties as required/directed as service needs change or grow, consistent with the above and within the scope of the position and any other legal or industrial obligations.

What makes a difference for us?

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA practicing certificate as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 12 months post graduate experience as Scrub Scout
  • A commitment toward the mission of UnitingCare Hospitals and the attainment of the goals of the Nursing Division.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
  • Prepared to comply with and uphold the terms and conditions of employment for nursing staff as per the relevant UnitingCare Health Enterprise Agreement.
  • Comply with the UnitingCare Code of Conduct.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts
