Full-Time Position: Registered Pharmacy Technician
Position Requirement: Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Location: On-site, Mississauga
Hours: 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: Starting at $63,000/year
Position Description
We are looking for a pharmacy technician who can provide support for general dispensing activities, with a focus on the technical aspects of dispensing for new and refill prescriptions. This will include tasks such as prescription filling, processing, and checking, navigating complex reimbursement scenarios, and coordination of patient deliveries. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with patients and other external parties. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate a high level of service when interacting with external parties to represent the pharmacy in the best possible light. You will be working closely with other members of the pharmacy team to provide this outstanding service for our patients.

MemberRx is an innovative pharmacy focused on supporting the complex health needs for patients across Ontario. The pharmacy occupies an 8,000 square feet facility located just south of Toronto Pearson International Airport. We look to provide an elevated pharmacy offering while having a meaningful and measurable impact on health outcomes for Ontario’s working professionals.
The pharmacy will incorporate elements from other practice areas such as specialty, community, and long-term care, to name a few. The current focus is on the dispensing and delivery of high-cost, specialty medications to treat a variety of severe and complex medical conditions. Future expansion would encompass building out a robust multi-disciplinary clinical network to deliver a more comprehensive care model beyond pharmaceutical interventions. The pharmacy also aims to provide timely medication delivery to minimize delays in treatment to enhance the member experience and promote therapeutic adherence. You will be working alongside an expert team of pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and logistics staff to meet each of these objectives.

Primary Accountabilities
- Utilize the full scope of practice to ensure technical accuracy of drugs dispensed.
- Accurately validate that the drug being dispensed matches the prescriber’s order.
- Coordinate with patient support programs to coordinate reimbursement activities.
- Provide direction support staff to areas of need in drug distribution.
- Assist pharmacy staff in completing tasks.
- Management of shipping and dispensing schedules.
- Assist the pharmacy management in training other staff members.
- Ensure that documentation for technical tasks is detailed and accurate.
- Monitoring of pharmacy duties performed required to ensure policies and procedures developed are being followed consistently to ensure safe handling and distribution of specialty medications.
- Respond to communications, either by phone or email, from various stakeholders and triage these communications to the appropriate pharmacy team member as necessary.

- Computer proficiency in working with Microsoft’s productivity suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proficiency with Kroll pharmacy management system is strongly preferred.
- Competency with technology and its integration with pharmacy practice.
- Ability to type 40 words per minute or more.
- Capable of lifting boxes or materials up to 50lbs.
Education & Experience
- Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as an actively licensed pharmacy technician.
- Pharmacy technician diploma from a program accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs.
- Two or more years of experience practicing as a licensed pharmacy technician.
- Experience in specialty pharmacy or long-term care pharmacy is an
