Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent
within the last twelve months)
Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate required (training delivered by Health
Centre upon hire)
OR Course in progress or completed required
Must be willing to function within the RPN full scope of practice including the following:
Aseptic technique
Certification in IV therapy
Capillary Blood Glucose testing certification
Certification in medication administration
Catheterization
Recent related surgical experience in a surgical care setting including Day Surgery (within the last
(3) three years) required
Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team with the ability to function well in a
fast-paced, ever-changing environment required
High level of interpersonal skills required
Able to meet the physical demands required to provide nursing care to surgical and radiological
patients (adults and children) required
Ability to relate to children and knowledge of paediatric teaching and learning principles required
Ability to work with minimal supervision required
Strong assessment skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Computer skills required
Good attendance and work record
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients,
volunteers, and visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this
organization
Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged
