Description:

The Major trauma ward is one of the four trauma centres in London. We provide nursing care for all trauma patients in the North-West of London. The Major Trauma Ward is a 19 bedded ward delivering level 1 care to a complex group of poly-trauma patients including intracranial, spinal cord and column injuries, as well as cardiothoracic, vascular, orthopaedic, plastic, general surgery and maxillofacial injuries.
We are a busy and fast paced ward delivers expert care to patients with tracheostomies, chest drains, and invasive analgesia and have five beds for patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Our daily multidisciplinary approach to patient care allows us to achieve the best outcomes for our patients, who may be facing life changing injuries as a result of trauma.
You will work as part of the trauma team delivering and ensuring an effective and high quality of care and service is delivered to every major trauma patient.
We are looking for an innovative, driven individual who is passionate about delivering high quality patient centred care to join our trauma team.
To provide 1:1 support for vulnerable patients unable to be left alone
To fill out behaviour charts in order to monitor patient behaviour
To assist and support the registered nurse, under supervision, with the delivery of direct patient care, with the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery
