Description:

Summary of Duties

  • Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in the Breast Imaging department in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures.
  • Routine screening and diagnostic mammography and radiologist supervised breast ultrasound
  • Performs imaged guided procedures
  • Performs quality control, quality assurance for Mammography Accreditation Program
  • Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Assists radiology residents and fellows within the Breast Imaging division
  • Collaborates and participates in Imaging research as directed

Qualifications/Skills

  • CAMRT and CMRITO Registration
  • Mammography I, Mammography II Courses, Specialty certification in Breast Imaging preferred
  • Recent related technologist experience in breast imaging required
  • Recent related breast ultrasound experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and also at times independently
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making
