Description:
Summary of Duties
- Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required
- Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in the Breast Imaging department in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures.
- Routine screening and diagnostic mammography and radiologist supervised breast ultrasound
- Performs imaged guided procedures
- Performs quality control, quality assurance for Mammography Accreditation Program
- Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures
- Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
- Assists radiology residents and fellows within the Breast Imaging division
- Collaborates and participates in Imaging research as directed
Qualifications/Skills
- CAMRT and CMRITO Registration
- Mammography I, Mammography II Courses, Specialty certification in Breast Imaging preferred
- Recent related technologist experience in breast imaging required
- Recent related breast ultrasound experience required
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and also at times independently
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making
