EDUCATION :

Preferably Bachelors’ Degree in Medicine followed by specialized training in Internal medicine. Membership/ Fellowship and/or PhD/MD Degree in Nephrology. Basic Life Support Certification is desirable

EXPERIENCE :

Preferably 3 years’ experience with minimum 1 year experience post Fellowship/Membership or PhD/MD in Dialysis.

OPERATIONAL DUTIES

• Monitors patient for adverse reaction and hemodialysis machine for malfunction

• Involved in collecting and recording patient’s predialysis weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate.
• Participates actively in the on-call rota of the department for patient care and admissions. Responds to emergencies to offer medical care and advice on problems related to his/her specialty.
• Documents plan of patient management and maintains appropriate records of all patients with accurate, timely legible completion of patients’ medical records.
• Evaluates new admission and coordinates with Consultant a plan of investigation to establish a diagnosis and a management course and Executes the plan approved by the Consultant.
• Explains dialysis procedure and operation of hemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.
• Attends clinics and assess patients and formulating treatment decisions seeking advice from the consultant as appropriate.
