  • EXPERIENCE – Minimum of 6 months to 1 year in general clerical activities.
  • SKILLS – Must have the ability to utilize general office equipment to include basic computer skills.

Responsibilities:

II. SUMMARY OF POSITION’S PURPOSE

Provides clerical support to the Guidance Counselor with respect to new student registration, withdrawals, attendance and other related functions.

IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides clerical support to the Guidance Counselor including, but not limited to, typing reports, answering phones, making copies and preparing student files.
  • Prepares all paperwork related to the registration of new students.
  • Prepares all paperwork related to the withdrawal of students.
  • Assists Counselor in coordinating standardized testing.
  • Maintains an updated custody list.
  • Coordinates all clerical activities related to student attendance tracking.
  • Enters grades at the end of each 9 week period and prepares report cards.
  • Ensures that all student data is updated on the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assists the School Nurse by distributing approved medications and checking students for lice.
  • Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Assists with the orientation of new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
  • Performs other services as required.
