Description:

Position Title: Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)
Reports to: VP, Student Recruitment & Strategic Partnerships
Location: Toronto, ON

POSITION SUMMARY

The RCIC provides expert immigration advice to international students in alignment with federal immigration guidelines. This role is pivotal in advising prospective students to understand and adhere to immigration regulations to maintain their legal status while studying and/or working in Canada. Additionally, the RCIC guides international students through the admissions process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting a smooth transition into the Canadian education sector.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in immigration advising, preferably with students at the post-secondary level.
  • Licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) is required.
  • A positive attitude and student-focused approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to effectively.
  • Communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to manage stress and thrive in often demanding situations.
  • Proven self-starter and problem solver.
  • Must be deadline-driven and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion.
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft applications and productivity tools.
  • Display professional work ethic and exemplary behaviour while respecting provincial and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to prospective international students throughout their application stage, ensuring a smooth transition throughout the admissions process and assisting with study permit applications.
  • Provide accurate, and comprehensive immigration advice in all areas of temporary residence applications, processes, and general guidance on permanent residence in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of IBU academic programs and student services, including international admission requirements and academic policies.
  • Accurately interpret and apply the appropriate regulations, procedures, and policies to the cases presented by prospective students to offer them information concerning their situation and initiate the resolution of complex problems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and changes to IRPA and IRPR as it pertains to the University and its regulatory policies to ensure competency to perform the duty of a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.
