Description:
Newgen PharmaChoice is the BC Renal and BC Transplant pharmacy in Abbotsford. The store is located in a medical building that has many different physicians including family medicine, internal medicine, ENT, psychiatry, general surgery, oral pathology, and optometry. This is a dynamic work environment with opportunities to collaborate inter-professionally in a growing area of Abbotsford. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with great interpersonal skills who can work in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full time position of up to 40 hours per week.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed provincial Pharmacy Technician certification or completed a Pharmacy Technician course AND the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada Qualifying exam
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing in BC

Responsibilities:
- Assists pharmacist in the filling and dispensing process of the prescription
- Assists patients at counters, retrieves prescriptions, processes register transactions
- Answers phone calls to assist patients with prescription refills or medication inquiries
- Coordinates deliveries, assists accounts receivables with pending charges
- Maintains medication inventory, supplies and OTC merchandise
- Completes verification for prescriptions and blisterpacks to the extent permitted by provincial regulations
- Alerts pharmacist of drug interactions between prescription and OTC medications
- Prepares third-party insurance claims
- We have recently installed SynMed automation to assist us with blisterpacking. The successful candidate will also be involved with maintaining and managing the operations of the machine.
- Is able to practice within the Scope of Practice of Registered Technician with the College of Pharmacist of BC.

Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
