We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager, with a big passion for regulatory environment, specialized on chocolates and biscuits.

The position entails
This is a very exciting opportunity to ensure the legal compliance of the products of GODIVA Chocolatier within Europe.
Your goal will be to provide sound regulatory information and advice to support product launches and re-designs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the compliance of the products with local regulations and internal policies.
You will be reporting to the Head of the Regulatory Affairs for the region of Western Europe and Emerging Markets (WEEM) within a team of regulatory experts based in different countries.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of GODIVA products both in retails and in cafes in accordance with the sales market regarding product formulation, pack copy generation and artwork sign-off, in line with pladis policies.
  • Working closely with R&D from different locations of the world, convert recipe details into pack copy information to appropriate legal formats in required language for intended sale markets.
  • Review and sign-off artwork designs against relevant pack copy for legal compliance for market.
  • Understand the allergen matrices and apply accordingly to ensure a truthful information is being conveyed for the consumer in the boutiques and the packs are labelled with the accurate allergen warnings, in aligned with the selling market requirements.
  • Represent the Regulatory Affairs team where appropriate with project team meetings with a specific remit to advise on compliance implications.
  • Keep abreast of development and trends of the food & health regulations and local and international policies that could impact our business.
  • Experience in the local trade associations, drive Company agenda and develop common positions and communications which can support the business. (preferred)

What do you bring?

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or other food science-based degree, with at least 4-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs departments.
  • A knowledge/understanding of EU and UK Food Legislation, guidelines and codes of practice.
  • Prior experience in confectionary, retail sector is a definite advantage.
  • Knowledge of ingredients, process methods and factories producing biscuits and chocolate.
  • Hands on, able to manage dynamic & complex changes and willing to take up challenges.
  • Excellent attention to details and on-time delivery of the tasks.
  • Good communication and influencing skills, proactive demeanour.
  • Proven project management and implementation skills will be essential, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • High level of digital literacy & proficiency in using web-based specification systems.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Works autonomously, but also a good teammate.
