QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or related science highly preferred, with 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas or production chemical industry required. Alternate degree considered with 3+ years industry experience. Experience creating Safety Data Sheets required.
Certifications/Licenses: None.
Driving Requirements: Valid driver’s license required. Travel to company locations expected 20-30% of the time.
Physical Requirements – Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds chest high. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, climbing, and walking, although the position is mostly sedentary. Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to talk, hear, and see. Must be able to assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work. Must be able to read for periods of three hours or more.
Work Environment – Indoor shop/office setting, with laboratory onsite. Includes potential exposure to chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil, and gases. Noise level is typically moderate.
Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as providing excellent customer service. Proficiency in technical writing and communications. Understand all audiences and develop appropriate communication solutions. Skilled at cultivating and managing relationships.
Language Skills - Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, regulations, policies, and procedure manuals. English language fluency in reading, writing, and speaking. Bi-lingual beneficial.
Project Management Skills – Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate across all departments and locations, while meeting deadlines.
Computer Skills – Efficiently navigate a web browser, mobile applications, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.). Must be able to design professional presentations. Experience in creating spreadsheets, flowcharts, and pivot tables preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of environmental compliance across all facilities. Including necessary permitting and organizing of documentation at each location.
  • Manage site environmental personnel and ensure team is aligned to support EHS goals and improvement strategies.
  • Champion a holistic approach to environmental management, incorporating the broader socio-political, legal, and economic landscape into our strategies.
  • Collaborate and engage with relevant regulatory authorities such as the EPA, TCEQ, Corp of Engineers, and others, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory programs at each Creedence location.
  • Work with HSE in the development and implementation of robust processes, procedures, and practices to foster a compliant, healthy, safe, and secure operational environment.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships, promote alignment with various corporate support groups, and cultivate meaningful partnerships with external stakeholders on behalf of Creedence.
  • Management of environmental programs in compliance with USA laws, regulations & codes (EPA, TCEQ, DHS, CFATs, OSHA-PSM etc.).
  • Collaboration of activities with the corporate EHS, Maintenance, Technical and Purchasing departments.
  • Collaboration with HSE team in Creedence locations and public organizations (LEPC, BAYCAP, etc.) in development of EHS programs in support of our regional operations (i.e. RCRA, CERCLA, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed environmental metric targets (regulatory reporting, obtaining permits, regional inspections & audits), as well as participating in local EHS committees and participation in corporate committees.
  • Implementation and management of environmental training.
  • Ensure that the MOC submitted for approval meets all the engineering and regulatory design requirements.
  • Development of programs through efficiency to reduce fixed cost of operation departments (i.e. waste management, etc.)
  • Development of programs to incorporate solutions to maximize EHS programs & costs.
  • In charge of creating and managing the Safety Data Sheet process (SDS’s and labels) for the company.
  • Work well independently and as a team.
  • Provide excellent customer service
