Description:
JOB SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity at our Cincinnati, OH location for a Regulatory Compliance Officer. This role will involve ensuring compliance with chemical control and other product-related regulations, advocating for legislative changes, and coordinating activities related to product stewardship. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field such as Chemical Engineering or Toxicology.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of experience in the chemical industry, with preference given to those with experience in the coatings/inks industry.
- 5+ years of experience in US and international chemical regulatory compliance, including knowledge of FDA or other American or international chemical control laws and regulations.
- Fluent in English, with additional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese being a plus.
- Experience with hazard communication (Hazcom) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of organic chemistry is preferred, but non-organic chemistry experience will also be considered.
- Experience in the petrochemical industry is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the development of chemical-related regulations in the region and collaborate with business units and research and development to create mitigation plans and identify new product opportunities.
- Develop processes and systems to ensure compliance with new and existing regulations related to product safety and regulatory affairs.
- Prepare and submit notifications and registration documents to authorities for marketing our products in compliance with regional regulations.
- Assess and communicate the compliance status of our products to internal and external stakeholders.
- Interact with authorities as needed for ongoing notifications, clarifications, and inspections.
- Collaborate with the Global Hazard Communication team to ensure compliance with regional regulations for product documents such as MSDS and labels.
- Recommend the participation of the company in business teams, trade associations, and advocacy groups related to product stewardship and regulatory compliance.
- Manage submissions through the Product Steward Network and coordinate activities for multiple plant products.
- Train business partners on regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Manage product regulatory compliance aspects of change management processes.
- Ensure product regulatory compliance for new products through the AIMS process.
