Description:

ABOUT THIS JOB

Responsible to the Principal Lawyer for delivery of legal advice and casework in the area of Regulatory Law, within Barking and Dagenham Legal Services.

Regulatory Law covers, inter alia

  • Prosecutions and advice for Health and Safety, Trading Standards, Planning, Licensing, Environment, Private Sector Housing, Food Safety and other areas
  • Enforcement and recovery of expenses relating to statutory notices issued by Private Sector Housing and Trading Standards and other clients
  • Advice to the Council in respect of proceedings before the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber/General Regulatory Chamber)
  • Advice to the Council in respect of licensing (Licensing Act 2003, Gambling, Street Trading and other Licenses)

Support the service in the delivery and development of Legal Services.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POST

You will be qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive.
