Description:

The Commodities and Global Markets Legal team provides legal advice and guidance across all other divisions of the Group to ensure the business is meeting legislative and regulatory obligations, and ensure our legal documentation reflects the team’s risk tolerance.
This is a 6 month contract.

What role will you play?
In this project role, you will engage and advise with lawyers globally on Macquarie’s internal netting policy and procedures, whilst overseeing the review of industry and legal opinions supporting netting and margining agreements. You will review industry collateral enforceability opinions and prepare summaries that will be referenced by internal lawyers, in addition to engaging with subject matter experts to ensure internal mapping documents for APS 112, APS 180, and CPS 226 reflect current practices.
You will act as a secretary to the internal committee responsible for netting outcomes, provide guidance to lawyers on matters which are handled by the committee and provide additional legal support as required.

What you offer

  • Admitted to practice in Australia with 5+ years’ PQE
  • Knowledge of derivatives documentation and regulation
  • Relevant industry experience gained within the regulatory/ financial markets sectors
  • Experience working on projects, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders in a deadline driven environment.
