For 32 years, Gallery Specialty Hardware has been a top manufacturer of custom architectural door hardware. Gallery Specialty Hardware is a division of ASSA ABLOY Canada.
We are currently seeking a Regulatory & Product Compliance Specialist to be based in our manufacturing facility in North York, Ontario Canada.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Product Compliance Specialist, you’ll spearhead regulatory certification aspects for new product development and updates, integrating closely with our supply chain and product management teams. Your pivotal role encompasses preparing certification submissions, ensuring ongoing compliance, guiding adherence to building codes, and fostering regulatory awareness within our organization. This is a new role in our organization so you’ll champion the product compliance efforts and create new processes for our Gallery product compliance efforts, in alignment with ASSA ABLOY America’s compliance teams. This role reports to the Engineering Manager at Gallery Specialty Hardware.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, electronic, or related fields
  • 5+ of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience with Intertek and UL
  • Knowledge of architectural hardware an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regulatory submissions, manage timelines, and maintain an electronic library of projects
  • Collaborate with the product management team to identify regulatory compliance requirements, ensuring market approval in the U.S. and Canada
  • Work closely with the supply chain team and partnered suppliers to ensure products meet certification requirements, coordinating efforts to obtain necessary certifications
  • Review product and production changes for regulatory impact, updating certifications accordingly
  • Ensure compliance of labeling and promotional materials
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations to align product and production methods with certification requirements
  • Reviews and approves product bills of materials (BOM)
  • Stay abreast of new building codes and regulations, communicating changes to internal stakeholders
  • Interface with regulatory agencies
  • Provide progress reports to leadership
  • Principal Internal Collaborators: Marketing, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Business Development, Supply Chain, and Product Management
